Mysteries of the mind

Consciousness Survival:

There are three basic questions at the core of what I do.

  1. Does consciousness (mind/soul) exist separately from the brain?

  2. Can consciousness survive once the brain (organ) has died?

  3. Can we scientifically detect/prove consciousness survival?

For me, the answer to all three of these questions is, “yes.”  Now just because I believe this, I don’t think that you should.  A belief is a subjective view point, however, I can say this with 100% certainty, I am pretty fond of my own viewpoint.

In scientific terms, survival of consciousness is only an hypothesis.  Currently, there is no absolute scientific proof that consciousness survives the death of the brain. However, there is enough laboratory and empirical evidence to suggest that the mind, and the brain, may act both in unison and independently of each other.

Many believers of spiritual matters are dismissive of science as a way to understand faith.  Not me.  I agree that science is simply a method and not a position, however; I believe science is the best tool we have to uncover the mysteries of our universe without falling pray to a universe of divisive religious dogma or idealistic, new age thinking.

Honesty:

An honest medium...

  1. Should not ask who you want to hear from before a reading

  2. Will provide unsolicited evidential proof of survival of consciousness

  3. Should not engage in psychic predictions or fortune telling

  4. Will be 100% honest, even when they are 100% wrong

  5. Should not turn you into a psychic junkie or a spiritual dependent

Skill:

Mediumship is a skill, not a gift. Anyone who tries to claim that they possess a supernatural gift is either greatly misinformed, a total ego maniac, or disingenuous and/or delusional.

Mediumship can be taught and it can be perfected.  Mediumship, like music, is a language expressed through individual talent, commitment and education.  Some people have a natural aptitude for it that sets them above the rest.  Still, others can bang out “Mary Had a Little Lamb” and also enjoy the creative process and emotional connection music provides.

I’ve worked hard to hone and refine my craft.  I want to be the best darn medium I can.  I want my clients to trust that when they come to see me, they are going to get their money’s worth, not a bunch of generalized, New Age platitudes about love and light.

Simply put, a medium is exactly that, a “medium” - an intermediary, or the notorious “middle man” that stands between you and an objective.  In this case, that objective is communication.  You want to communicate with spirit, and spirit wants to communicate with you, though not always for the same reason.  This is where a well-trained medium can come in handy - to help sort out the message.  The key word here being, “help.”  Your role as the final interpreter is key to the process.

In other words, a good medium is simply a good translator, and a good translators should be trained, tested and trusted by clients and peers alike. If I don’t connect you to the other side, it’s my fault, either because I failed to manage the process or educate the sitter.  This is why I stand by my work with a 100% money back guarantee.

Psychics:

Like I said, I'm a medium, not a psychic.  Of course, like anyone else, I can tap into psychic energy (clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience) to deliver spiritual messages, but I do NOT tell fortunes, read cards or make predictions about your future, your career or your love life.   To me, looking into a crystal ball can be a fun diversion, but as a spiritual tool, it's a total waste of time.   Do you really believe everything is predestined?  I don't.

I never ask "what's going to happen to me tomorrow?"  I ask, "what do my actions and choices today say about the course I've mapped out for my life tomorrow?" The focus is on today.

The future is a blank page in your diary - only you can live it, only you can write it.

Grief vs. Belief

Cynics, critics and skeptics often claim that mediums prey on the vulnerability of the grieving.  Unfortunately, there are some very bad psychic/mediums out there whose work paint a negative picture of what mediums actually do (i.e. Sylvia Browne).  I wish I could wipe this stain off with a magic cloth, but my only power is to do good, honest work, and lead by example.

The truth is that less than 2% of my clients see just because they are grieving a loved one.  Most people come to me because they want some kind of proof for what they already know to be true - that the afterlife is real.  They want validations from friends and loved ones on the other side.  They want to feel connected again; they want to breathe a gust of faith.

I think this is great.  Anything that keeps us challenging our beliefs and exploring our faith is time well spent.  What surprises people most about my readings is discovering that spirit has an agenda altogether different than our own.  I call it Inspiritive Mapping.®
